They all suck. These are usually served by less experienced Chan operators try to monetize traffic in un-conventional ways.

Well, their is a way to get rid of them and browse your favorite Chan imageboard without these pesky little scripts of evil. With a simple change to your router or computer's network configuration, you'll be surfing Chan's 99% advertisement free.

What you need to do is change your DNS servers from the ones given to you by your ISP, to:

63.247.147.163
96.57.62.202

The instructions vary from platform, their are plenty of guides on how to do this available on Google.

Also note, that in addition to detoxifying your favorite Chan, you'll also enjoy ad-free browsing on several popular Internet websites. As an added bonus, NO ADS ON HULU! yay!

As a final note, you must understand that some ads may get through and some sites might break. The advertisements blocking technology used on these DNS servers has identified several popular websites and Chans, and has implemented workarounds to prevent breakage. However, this is not 100% reliable.

most chans will shutdown if you take away their way to pay for server costs. Linkbucks and other annoying services are the only way for chan owners because the faggots that lurk chans do not click on regular ads.

I don't mind a few ads here and their. I completely agree that the sites must be supported in some way. However, any webmaster who knows what they are doing knows that shoving random ads in your face will cause more harm than good. Hence... ad blocking.

Has a Chan website owner I'm 100% against adblockers.

I'm not going to tell you which website I own but all I can tell you is that advertising is needed to support the expenses.

Hosting a chan is not free, it needs big amounts of bandwitdh and lots of patience.

Well I am chan owner and proudly say my chan has no ads.
Cause I doing it for fun and experience. I deal with cost, just like a ticket to Six Flags.

Once your chan hits it peak, no amount of money give you that pride of owning a big time chan.

Cost is just a side effect, deal with it, just like the people that own twitter.

My chan runs with unlimited bandwidth and storage for about $100 a year. It's not much and ads are more annoying than a donation button. I haven't found an ad system that doesnt have gay chat or flashing ads that fuck up the style and cleanliness of my chan. I prefer not to use them.

i don't mind the small ads, the 100x50px ads are okay and the ones at top and bottom of pages are okay too as long as there isn't too much of them. but the popups and the ones that will cover the entire fucking page are annoying as hell

If you faggots don't click on ads or have ad blockers on at all times, ways to get around ad blockers and more intrusive ads must be used. If it wasn't for people blocking ads, I'd only have 2 very simple banners ads on my entire site, but those don't pay anything anymore because they are always blocked. So, since banners don't pay, we have to move to interstitials. Now interstitials barely pay anymore, because it all gets blocked as well, these days. What's left? The worst thing that I would have never added to my site 4-5 years ago. I have to add pop-unders (at least it's not a pop-over), and even they pay only half of what banners used to pay.

Blame yourselves for blocking very basic banners on the sites you like.
